wnted locking wheelnut key

I may be missing the point here, but surely the point of locking wheel nuts is that not any old key unlocks them?

They may look the same but there are numerous various fitments. Best bet is to contact your main dealer with your chassis number to obtain the correct one

(That's if it still has the standard lock set from factory)

You can also buy a socket now that removes locking wheel nuts.
Its basically a socket with teeth inside that bites into the wheel nut and tightens the more you try to undo it.
Dont know how effective it is though.

If you go to your dealer with th car ,they have a boxed set of locking wheel nut keys which they will use to find the correct one.Price is about £7.

Hi i think you will find there are only 20 different variations of the original BMW locking bolts.
If you take it to a dealer they have a master set and can determine which one you need i think from memory a replacement is about £20.
Hope this helps

the tool has a number on it you need that I paid about 8 quid for a replacement like said just go see your local bmw parts dept they have a full set and will identify which one you need

Is that to find the correct one or is that that cost to buy a new one ?? Thanks
A guy from the parts dept came out and went through them, there was no charge for that.

Locking wheel nuts a more trouble than there worth. I have acces to a set of sockets that can take of just about any bolt in seconds.

Local tyre guy once striped the splines when he fitted the take of tool in the impact gun, then had the cheek to say my bolts were striped and he could not change the tyres. What he didnt see was me in the viewing room watching .

So if you have these splined lock nuts make sure they use a hand wrench to take them of and to tighten them or you could end up with a bill

Let's all hope that the OP doesn't wear a striped jumper and carries a bag marked "swag"! :o

The stripey jumpered swag bag carriers don't have to ask how to remove locks!

Locks only keep honest folk out.
