wishbones and bushes

IMG_1373_zps9691078f.png~320x480

I want to replace ALL my bushes and was wondering whether to go with stock BMW parts or aftermarket upgrades e.g Powerflex

I have been told that it might be easier (and cheaper) to buy a whole new wishbone assembly as putting in new bushes is quite an expensive labour intensive job.

However, If i do buy a stock bmw wishbone, i'd have to settle for the standard bushes......

What to do ? any thoughts on this please Zed owners !

Many thanks, I'm a Newbie

Have a look at the Meyle HD, they seem to be the best regarded. I'm about to replace most of the front bushes on my car with them.

I'm ordering from this seller:

As the Z4 is already quite a stiff car would changing the bushes to harder ones maybe make it really uncomfortable? I really feel sorry for the car when I fall in a pothole or on shitty roads. What are other Z4 owners experience about comfort and aftermarket bushings?

Im having theses fitted on wednesday

I was going to fit them my self but my local garage at work is only going to charge me £70 to fit them :)

Don't know if it helps or not but I fitted Meyle HD wishbones to my (now gone) E46. The bushes had worn and would need replacing. The OEM bmw parts were only guaranteed for one year yet Meyle is 4 years. After reading up on reviews I bought and fitted them. I can only recommend. They transformed the car. Yes this could have just been to do with the worn bushes but the whole car felt tighter. I also bought Meyle disks and pads and these also seemed to be very good. Only drove the car for two weeks though until all this good work was written off by a lorry though.

i would agree. poly bushes if your tracking a lot or live with decent roads, but for our fucked roads stick with decent oem ones. know quite a few owners of other cars go back to rubber bushes from poly ones. they made the ride firmer and some times squeaked a lot
