Afternoon

I'm about to pick up a couple of new wishbones and lollipop bushes for the E85

Anyone had experience of these as a brand?

Otherwise, if they are chinese junk as expected, how have people found the EuroCrapParts brands to be for longevity?

Moog?
Febi?
Lemforder?
Starline?

Thanks in advance!

Stuart

Depends how you regard these parts..distress purchase or OE quality or best in class..

On the E89 Lemforder and Meyle are the top rated OE and better versions!

Having seen so many bad chinese copies of everything from exhaust systems to brake discs I'm not in favour of 'hooning' on parts of dubious parentage / source.. IMHO.. your choice obviously..

Thanks both

The car is predicted to be a keeper, so think I'll price up Lemforder; CBA to be doing the same job next year!

DISCLAIMER: I haven't yet bought this item!

I am about to buy these but need to contact the seller to ask if they are genuine and if they actually include the lollipop bushes and ball joints as per the picture. It also says its for an E46 but says it fits the Z4 E85 so I will ask this too.

Here is the link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-BMW-...SPENSION-ARM-MEYLE-HD-HEAVY-DUTY/160644369740

How do you define genuine...

Genuine Chinese..

Genuine fit the car..

Genuine as used by BMW themselves

Genuine Meyle HD parts. Not OEM I believe, but hopefully these are not chinese copies.

If not the eBay ones Autodoc also do them, but based on reviews on here about Autodoc, they could also be chinese copies. (Here.)

I use Autodoc all the time, providing you know what you are doing they offer premium versions from assured sources..

Obviously not all eBay shops are cowboys but on eBay I start from the assumed guilty till proven innocent..

Recently I found a number of turbo related parts that were all sold as BMW but were all pattern parts made in China..

I’m not anti Chinese but when sourcing parts for these babies why take the risk..

Good policy :)

How do you mean? How do you check Autodoc's source? Its good to hear some positive feedback about Autodoc though, might use them in the future.

They clearly state who the OE supplier is and in many cases offer several suppliers offering the same product at different price points..

It’s not publicly stated what parts BMW use but generally a bit of due diligence will reveal it..

The suppliers generally have to remove the BMW logos if they sell them under their own name..

So for example on the N20 the latest cam chain / oil pump drive / tensioner to address previous issues is available as a Febi part but literally has the the BMW original part numbers and logo ground off the plastic parts..

The Meyle HD arms have replaceable ball joints which was the key selling feature for me.

The ball joints on my Renaultsport Megane - £8.
Ball joints on a Z4 - whole new arm at £xx!

I've never been more than satisfied with suspension or engine components manufactured by the following brands : Meyle HD, Lemforder, Febi Bilstein, Behr, Wahler, Elring.
My lower front control arms and lollipops were Meyle HD from an Ebay seller. I buy perhaps 70-80% of my parts on Ebay and the rest from EuroCarParts. I always try to pick what looks like a reputable Ebay seller with 99-100% positive feedback and so far I've never had a problem
