Wish I hadn't found this site now

Didn't know Taz was the sort to keep his keys in a safe :poke:

I usually wonder which jacket pocket my keys are in. A thief would get bored looking before he found them.

I'd probably forget the combination if I had a safe

The Z4 is a future classic, if you keep it long enough it will go up in value, may take 30yrs but that means in the long term you have an appreciating asset rather than a depreciating asset, so the moral of the story is, think long term. :D

CSLs arent too bad either, I just picked up a perfect second hand set off an enthusiast never been refurbed in perfect OEM condition. Paid £750 for them, Shame it costs as much if not more for some boots... About £1500 in total

Great buy - Tomscott , thats an investment in itself you will not lose I would not think with current OEM csl's

I thought so too. They rarely go for less than £850 and these are like brand new not even small marks from stone chips. The owner said he hadnt done more than 3000 miles on them. He said he payed £2100 new with a set of Pilots (which is an incredible price!!) but kept the tyres. Finding them with tyres... there quite a lot more expensive. But I dont like the idea of second hand tyres, they are probably the most important component so would rather have the piece of mind by having new tyres.

Should easily get my money back when I come to sell!

Nice to see a pic with both sets on. Should make my decision alot easier . Paint my 224's or buy CLS's.Both look fab though. :?

I smiled when you said you were the "Salesman dream". That was me when I bought my first Z4 in Feb 2003. I didn't care about the price or the payment, just the smile from ear-to-ear. Had a lot of fun putting on 236,000 miles on her. Now, I am in a 2007 Z4 roadster, fully loaded, which I bought used for a lot less and still smiling. Enjoy your dream while you can. :D

Can just picture him as I drove away. Hitting the sales bell and laughing at how easy a sale. Saying that I had to go back in this month as couldn't find pin code to pair phone with radio. When pulled up he came out with two other salesmen to have a look around. He then pulled a pic from his phone that he had taken when it came in.with his son standing next to it . Made me feel quite proud :)

Ye the ones I have on are gunmetal 224 alloys. But Although they look good I dont like the 224 wheels they dont suit the caliber of the car IMHO but the CSLs do. It will cost the best part of £320 so thats half way to a set of CSLs like previous posts have said once you buy them you will get your money back because so many people want them. Like an investment.

Here is the thread where I was tryng out to see what the CSLs would look like compared to my 224s

Cheers . What does oem stand for?. Seen a new set selling on eBay at moment but want £1000. So I guess by the time tyres added you are looking at another £1600?. If and when I get some should I sell my 224's on or keep , even though they wouldn't be going back on again?

£600 would be really basic tyres... a set of pilot super sports would cost about £1150 or some vreds £750. Make sure they are real OEM alloys check this thread out don't want you getting burned on some reps.

I am putting 275/19/30s on the back and 235/19/35s on the front either Pilot Super Sports or Vreds haven't decided yet and its too cold to put them on yet IMHO. The tyres are the most crutial bit of your car so I would say don't cheap out on them.

I would keep your OEM alloys because come to trade or sell the car you will get more money by selling them separately than a dealer would give you for them on the car. You could also put some winter tyres on the spare set or if you wanted to do a track day use the tyres on the second set. Up to you really. Ive kept mine.
