Wiring for passenger side footwell lighting

Since i got my car my passenger side footwell lighting has never lighted up... so took some time today to pull off the light, and low and behold it is isnt plugged it, with no visible wire.

So i removed the glovebox, and underplastic to expose all the wiring but the wire for the light is nowhere to be found - i even unbundled the main wiring harness - which contains dozens of wires along with what looks like a 0 guage wire - so i am thinking the previous owner must have really screwed with the interior of this car as the glovebox clip was also busted (which i have since got repaired)

This is probably a long ask but does anyone know where the footwell light wiring is meant to come from? i'll have to buy a wire with a connector for the light - but i am hoping i can splice into a local wire (as the fusebox is so close) instead of running a new one from the roof light.

Thanks

what version of FF? works fine here on 3.0.17 (I rolled back from 3.50 within 24 hours of upgrading as it was pooh)

Thats brilliant - not come across this site before - its a little complicated but does the trick!

Now i just need to convince the dealer that they can sell the light connectors separate from the retrofit kit!

Just for info - only works for me by using IE 5 or above - doesn't work with Firefox.

Works for me on firefox - V 3.6

yep.. works on firefox here too, although dealing with SVG's correctly (zoom) can be a pain.

You could easily run a feed from the drivers footwell located in the kick panel as it will be easy to thread across the dash. That's where i tapped in for my door handle lights as it ensures it's on the auto dimming on lock and engine start functions.

Thats a good call.. cheers for the cj10jeeper - looks like it would be much easier to just scotchlock some wires to that intead wiring it through the a pillars. BMW ordered me a new connector cost 98p, so i will give this a go at the weekend.

I presume the side panel is easy to remove?

Go for the kick panel above the accelerator. 3 self tappers along the front egge and it just drops down.

Cheers... i def owe you a pint!

i picked up my little connector from the dealer tonight - no idea how i'll get a wire crimped into it but i'm sure i'll find a way!, and will give this a go this weekend, might aswell hardwire my road angel while i am at it.
