Wire Mesh Grill

Someone on here did a mod of putting some wire mesh behind the grills to protect the radiator which also looked the biz.

I have my mesh but wondered who made the thread as I would like to see how they fastened it and see the pictures again before I make my plan.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. :thumbsup:
 
Seen this done in the past and people have held it on with silicon.
Put a few blobs in a few places and press the mesh into it.
A hot glue gun could be used also.
 
Thanks Nick. Found the thread but wondered if there was a way to secure without gunk.

I will wait for my black surrounded grill and make the mesh fit those before transferring over.

As I said I found the thread so have sent a pm for some piccys as well.
 
I have done this before on a different car and I just bent the mesh around the surrounding plastic (all out of view) and that stayed in place ok.
 
Did this on my old scirocco mk2 screwed the mesh into place, lasted fine over 2 years only thing was the colour faded over time.
 
The mesh is coated and looks good as if it will last but who knows?

I will see how it best fits when I have the new black grills. The mesh is going to be big enough and in a place where it won't do any damage if it becomes dislodged but I would like it secure.

Will let you know how I get on.
