wipers- tips please for removal

Kinda embarrassed to post this up- after being able to do vanos refurbs etc I cant get my damn wipers off...

17mm bolts off, doused in WD40, tapped, levered, pulled, wiggled

used a specific wiper arm removal tool but I'm worried that will strip threads

cant get the swine off

Anyone got any tips? I really need them off to get under the front plastics and give the wiper motor a clean
 
Heat would be my next choice; sounds like the arms have corroded/welded themselves onto the splines.

Had to change my arms last year and was getting ready for a fight but they come off k my one with minimal fuss :P
 
Try tapping on the sides with a nylon-faced hammer or similar, while simultaneously pulling up.
A trick I used to use for disconnecting track control arms on my old Capris (although with a lot more force!)

Failing that, jack the car up in a garage, tie the wiper to the roof beams, then lower the jack :D

Was going to tie a long cord to the next departure from waddington but I worry they are so tightly attached the zed may go for a tour up around the Baltic’s
 
Hi Stu. First time I removed my wiper arms they were stuck solid. I soaked the splines in PlusGas for an hour or two and tried the smallest hub puller I have that is part of a set of three, 4" iirc.
Worked a treat :D Cleaned the splines up with a wire brush when reassembling and coated them in Coppaslip :thumbsup: 553991180.jpg

Only problem I found with the Three leg puller was that the hooks on the legs tend to be a little too thick.
You can get wiper arm pullers (also used for battery terminal ) off ebay for about £7.50, I have used them on a few vehicles and they generally do the trick.

Managed to get them off today with a sealey puller at Tony’s

Both went with a proper crack, thought I’d sheared it!

Proper stuck
