Wipers not working on slowest settings - E86

So my windscreen wipers have stopped working on the slowest of the three settings.

Middle and quickest settings work absolutely fine.

When put into the slowest setting the wipers will move once and then won't continue to move again until put into a faster setting.

Hope this is an easy fix! Any ideas as to the problem?

Cheers

By slowest setting, do you mean intermittent setting?

Do you have rain sensing wipers? If so I suspect the issue is with the sensor on the windscreen.

More than likely it's grease from the worm drive gotten onto the park switch. Remove the wiper arms and scuttle panel. This will reveal the motor and linkage. Undo the fixing bolts and remove the whole assembly. Take the top of the motor and using a cloth soaked in brake cleaner, give the revealed switch contacts a wipe.

Do you have the wheel on the stalk to adjust sensitivity? If so could be they are on the lowest sensitivity setting, it literally has to be chucking it to work on the lowest, whereas much better on the higher setting

As above.

If you put them in the lowest setting and tap the windscreen on the outside by the mirror they should activate.

Used to have a 2.2 so thought the set up would be the same. When they weren't working instantaneously I just assumed they were faltering.
Agreed, they are slow to react. I've gone the best part of a year thinking they were broken! :headbang:
