Wipers - 2 swipes not 1 on intermittent.

Hi guys,

Just going over my new Z4 and I have noticed on auto wipers they seem to swipe twice when first turned on and then twice every time they move after this. On my old car they would only move once which I'm guessing was normal and the new car isn't! They also raise slightly when they do stop (so they don't rest at the bottom of the screen). I am just about to try the wiper fix which will hopefully cure the resting position problem but I'm not sure about the 2 swipes bit?

Any ideas?

Well I have cleaned the grease from the motor housing but they still move up slightly when stopping (although I think it's slightly better that before). Anything else it could be?

Did you use a cotton bud / ear stick around the edges? As I had the same as you, but only cleaned the grease from the top

On the second attempt I cleaned all round the edges, the wipers then functioned correctly

I didn't no, I will take it all out and try that!

Cleaned the contacts again and its now fixed the 2 strokes problem but the wipers still raise slightly. They also stay like this after the cars been turned off so maybe it's not the same problem as most people have as these should lower when the cars turned off apparently?

Have also found one of the mirrors doesn't fold in electrically, can't find much information about fixing that so will leave that for my indie!
