Wiper Problems

I recently had my windscreen replaced under warranty to fix a faulty wiper sensor. Everything seemed fine for the first 3 months but gradually the wipers began to malfunction.

Now my wipers behave erratically. If you push the stall down to get a single wipe it now wipes about 10-12 times and then freezes in the middle on the windscreen. Once stuck the stalk is unresponsive even the washers stop working. After about 2 minutes they start to work again briefly before stopping again.

If I restart the car they always rectify themselves for a while.

Anyone seen this? Help appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Rich. I also have a 2003 and I've not had any wiper problems, knock on wood, but it sounds like the motor's going. Are you still under warranty? Have you tried your ignition 3 times to reset? (I think it's 3 times, haven't done it in months). Hopefully someone here will be along that can help you out better then me

People use their wipers? No freakin way?! I think i've used mine twice since I got the car 3 months ago. Once was for a light rain and once was for dust because i was too lazy to get the dust mop out.
