Wiper linkage mechanism

hi folks, the driver's side wiper has stopped working after the linkage failed. I've filled in some forms online looking for a new linkage from a scrapper, but two days on and still no word. Anyone any idea how much a new one is from BMW, and do they sell the linkage without the motor, or just as a job lot?

Realoem is your friend... linky
Shows the linkage and motor is a single part (part number also shown). For a dealer cost, ring Sopers on 01522 690000 and quote the forum for a discount.

My old Z4 had a failure, see above thread. I think it was £160 for the new assembly, but check the thread for details and how I fixed it for free

Well I took a half day today seeing as the sun was shining in Norn Iron for a change, and the wipers are back in action. Was an easy enough job, but if you're doing it yourself be careful removing the black cover over the wiper mechanism - broke two clips off. To be honest they look almost designed to break off, very flimsy. Left them superglued for an hour or so and seemed to do the trick. I took the linkage out, drilled a 4mm hole through the faulty joint, and put a bolt through it with a big washer on one end and a lock nut on the other. Working better than before, and less screen judder (with hindsight the judder, although not awful, was a sign of an imminent failure). Total cost of repair, with some touch up paint for a few scrapes getting the thing out and a torx screwdriver, was a tenner. :D

I did the same, the arm came away from the ball joint and wouldn't stay on so I drilled the ball joint and tapped a thread and used a steel washer and a plastic one as a friction reducer, worked a treat! I thought at first the ball joint would be very hard material but it's quite soft and easy to drill/tap.
