Wiper blades

Refreshing an older thread. The last two sets of wiper blades I have bought are so noisy I try to eke out the intermittment wipe so I don't have to
put up with a continuous noise of the rubber dragging and vibrating across the screen. The original blades when I bought the car from BMW in 2015 were silent but fell apart after a couple of years. Current ones are Halfords Bosch. It seems that the rubber is too hard. Any advice? Screen treatment that stops it? I'm looking at Bosch Super + plus on ebay but not sure they will be any better!

As much discussed BMW OE perform the best according to many folks..I tried Bosch and Halfords but came back to BMW..very expensive but the best

My Wife has jumped the gun and ordered the ones on ebay that were sitting in our basket 🙄.
These are Bosch Super+ £22.95 Inc Post.
Are the BMW ones that much more expensive?

Valeo aero. boom

Thanks for this. I was about to look at these when I found my Wife had ordered the Bosch ones from ebay. Silencio in the name suggests they are quiet.

Same here. BMW all the way. Tried so many alternatives including Bosch, but the fact the last inch on the passenger side doesn't sit flat really does my nut in. :headbang: All that money wasted, should have gone straight to BMW in the first place.

That probably just applies to their customer service department :P

If only they didn't look like they came off a Soviet era Lada... Why couldn't BMW make our cars on a more updated platform (F29? F39?) Instead of E?

The G29 Z4 leapfrogged the F series..every dog has its day..E89 is now a ‘classic’… :tumbleweed:

Fitted the Bosch Super + wipers a week ago 👎
Just as noisy as the old ones although it's different. Now sounds like sneakers on shiney ceramic tiles.
Will have to drop into my local dealership and buy the BMW ones ASAP or wear ear plugs as the rain seems to have no end.

I have those Bosch Aerotwin blades, horrible things.
They are too tall where they meet the arm, ugly, and squeak.
Still to find quiet blades.
I held on to the old one's just in case.

Squirt some Rainx into the washer fluid, every time you wash the windshield the glass is coated and then you can drive with no wipers at all.
The water beads off so fast that you can see right through the drops on the glass. I get strange looks from other drivers on rainy days because my wipers aren't on but I can se perfectly.

I tried Rain X, was quite impressed how far you could go without using wipers.
Just the need to do every month becomes a chore.
Have you actually put it in the washer, or just a joke.
I would imagine it's bit smeary until it dries.
Also i only use cheap bottled water on the assumption might far less bugs in it as it must be filtered at the bottling plant.

No joking, it works well. With the washer tank full of fluid I add about 1-2 oz of Rainx.
So each time you squirt washer fluid on the windscreen it gets coated in the wipe area, I'm sure Rainx knows this but why would they tell you when you use a lot more when you apply it the way they recommend. Oh, and it is not smeary as only a tiny amount goes on with each squirt.
In fact, in NA at least, Rainx sells 4L bottles of Rainx washer fluid, regular washer fluid with a squirt of Rainx in it.
