I bought the car (2011 23i) with 2 Bosch wipers but last year it failed its MOT as the one on the passenger side was split on the blade. It was replaced with a 20 inch Valeo Silencio one then and there to pass and I've had no issues with it so left as is.
This week I noticed the drivers side had a similar split so wanting a quick fix and thinking may as well match them I've had the same Valeo Silencio 20 inch fitted, so I have those on both sides now. The garage said the same was fine for both sides as I did query it.
That said having kept both old Bosch ones I noticed the drivers side wiper didn't fit as snug into the new ones box partly as it had a large bit of plastic on it which google suggests to me is for better efficiency driving at speed as it creates downforce? I also noticed the driver side one was longer than the old passenger side one which makes me think maybe I shouldn't have 20 inches on both sides.
I've had a look at a few past posts but what is the proper size I should have on the drivers and passengers side and will 20 inch on both matter?
As I still have the Bosch frames I could just buy a new rubber wiper bit if needed, though there not exactly expensive for brand new ones frame and all from what I've seen online.
