Wiper Arms Will Not Come Off!!! SOLVED!

I'm trying to replace the windshield cowl. To do that, I have to remove the windshield wiper arms. They will simply not come off. It's as if they're welded on there or something. Sheesh!!

I bought some Blaster spray (same as Freeze Off), applied to the bolts and let it sit overnight. Then, I used a wiper/battery terminal pull tool. Still, they will not come off. They're not even moving... at all.

This is a 2005 2.5i. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm about to give up.... and I have this brand new cowl just waiting to be installed. HELP!!!!

Once you have the nuts off, get some penetrating oil on the post mounts and leave to soak in overnight.

After penetrating fluid it needs a smack with a soft faced hammer Studio, you need to crack the corrosion that's built up and has 'welded' the arm to the spigot.

You may need to get violent with it if you don’t have a puller. Make sure you don’t break the screen and watch out incase you manage to pop the ball joint off the linkage then you are really stuffed if you still can’t get the arm off and it rains and you need the car…..don’t ask me how I know this…..

I used the same tool as noted above. I didn't think it was going to work then suddenly it just cracked and wiper came free.

Yeah, I already have that same tool and I've already soaked the bolt/nut area overnight.... I'll try again.

 Its called work experience I think Rock....

Put some tension on the puller tool when you think it is tight enough pour some boiling water from a kettle on the wiper arm carefully this expands the alloy faster than the steel shaft and it should release it

If not try harder until you brake one of the bits or it come off

I FINALLY got them off. Sheesh!! I use the battery/wiper pull tool AND vice grips to give me more leverage on the turn. I nearly broke pull tool! That's how "welded" they were.

Got the cowl on now, although that was a major chore, too. It's never finished, is it? haha
