Normal forum rules apply for who posts 1st for full price, then nearest offer if they're about for long enough

Collection preferred, happy to courier using Direct Courier Solutions at their published rates, otherwise sold as seen as follows
BMW Z4 E85 E89 E60 3 series Genuine OEM alloys + 225 45 17 HR Vredestein WINTRAC xtreme Winter tyres

Tyres bought brand new couple of winters ago for £600, with No punctures, repairs or bulges - tread depth 2 @ 7mm 2 @ 6mm, tread depth

Alloys are second hand & some are slightly curbed before I fitted the tyres, though 100% genuine OEM BMW alloys. They're clean, though not sparkly as were my summer 108's

Fit exceptionally well to the E85 bodywork, no rubbing on M sport springs if ur running an E85 or 3 series

Only selling as now no longer have my Z4

For winter wheels, Vreds are considered the premium brand to have on your car & with proper alloys, this combo represents a real steal at this starting price.

Grab a bargain before prices go sky high before the cold snap

Seems expensive.

Hi Nuke, thanks for your feedback, so would like to learn why you think they"re expensive (different market to Summer tyres) as there's none on eBay of this type, tread depth & OEM alloys at this price - always happy to be proved wrong & of course open to offers come November.

1. These are BMW 290 OEM which retail new for £1144 http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw_alloy_wheels/z4_e89_alloys/17_bmw_290_wheel_1417 - 2nd hand of course go for much less

2. The Vreds I had fitted cost £145 a corner, though because of the last mild winter there's a glut of winter tyres, so the same tyres can be found for £110 each, but you still have to have them fitted - cheapest I found was £135 a corner fitted

So with decent tread depth (you need minimum of 4mm with winters) & found in tests to be the best winter tyre after those with studds, believe is a fair price.

Cheers

Fair enough.

Winter tyres, in Kent .... why? :?

This is England not Russia. :)

It doesn't get that cold - especially "down south"

I've never bothered, even when I was using the E30 M3 as a daily drive.

Never-the-less good luck with the sale, looks a bargain to me, especially to someone in Scotland, Yorkshire, or even farther North :poke:

It doesn't have to get 'that cold' - winter tyres aren't just for snow & ice.

For anyone on runflats, once the temperatures drop below about 7C, the difference is amazing - the rubber compounds in winter tyres stay softer and more pliant at low temperatures and give better grip. Even with the mild winter last year I put a set of winter wheels on our F20, which was my wife's DD, and she immediately noticed how much better the car felt. The difference is less dramatic on non-runflats but it's still there, still noticeable and, IMO, still worthwhile.

So, why not take off the RFT's and use normal tyres all year rather than running two sets. :?

Winter tyres work - simples. I have to commute 60 miles a day and it might snow while I'm at work. With a BMW that's no good unless you fit winters!

Winters work better than normal rubber when it gets cold - as long as you have somewhere to store them, the additional cost is fairly small as your normal rubber lasts longer due to only being used for 8-9 months of the year. Some people don't even bother with a spare set of rims, they just buy winter tyres in the correct size and and have the tyres swapped by a local fitter.

Rubbish! :poke: I did a daily 100 mile commute in my E30 M3 on the one set of tyres.

One day I was snowed in, but I got out :driving:

I must admit it was interesting on black ice :o but winter tyres wouldn't have helped.

Each to their own, but IMHO not necessary, just learn how to drive!!

Give the guy a break , he is selling winter tyres someone in Scotland may think there perfect ! loads of people use these on a regular basis and the difference is meant to be night and day!

He's done a great advert and pictures GLWTS

My wife has been a district nurse for a number of years, she relies on her car to visit her patients who, in turn, rely on her - saying 'learn to drive' isn't particularly helpful, she's not a rally driver and has no ambition in that direction...

agreed +1 - but I still don't see the point of them :?

I used a set of winters on my last Z for 3 years - I drove the car every day and had them on from early November to end March. They probably had almost one more winter left in them. My summer rears lasted about 2 1/2 years and were ready to change when I sold them, the fronts had another 6-12 months in them because they were a square set-up and I could swap the wheels from front to back. In total I drove the car about 30k miles in that time.

Even here in Kent it gets cold enough to warrant them - remember the ground is almost always a lot colder than the air, even during the day and definitely during commuting hours. The difference in handling was noticeable, even though it didn't snow. And my summer wheels were tucked up nice and safe from all the salt on the roads, and not at risk of being kerbed if I'd had a wee corner or pot hole 'moment'.

No idea what my new car is going to drive like when it gets cold this year, but I'd have these in a heartbeat if they fitted my car :(

... all these posts & not one bite here, few questions already on eBay though probably quiet coz it's not cold enough yet.

Agree Kent's not the regular place to use Winters, though my PS3 Michelins were dangerous @ 3/4 degrees and below, hence why for those few seconds when you need them found can be a lifesaver.

It's also a good excuse twice a year to inspect the car's undercarriage, tyres & give them a sealant clean.

Until you've tried them in anger, like many things don't realise the difference they bring

Cheers

I started using winter tyres about 5 years ago, I'd never go back now. You need to have experienced the difference to get why you need them. Like the difference between discs and drums. Or radials and crossplies. Or vinyl and CD.
