My wife is on 60mg now, gradually reducing, is suffering some of those side effects.
If shes been using steroids for a very long time, make sure her GP checks her bone density with a DEXA scan. Osteoporosis is a risk too.

On a lighter note Sean, are you sure you're not Jeremy Wade from 'River Monsters' fame?

They are checking- but thank you for the heads up!
The effect she detests most I think is the “moon face” bruises etc she can hide!

The classic description is “moon face and buffalo hump” (which is a fat pad between the shoulders at the base of the neck), but I wouldn’t mention the buffalo if you don’t want a black eye :P

This post sums up why I still thoroughly enjoy being a member of the Z4 Forum. It's about the only thing left that is not full of activism, genderism and and all the rest of the bad news that fills our media daily.
Obviously this is down to the quality of the majority of the members who show respect to others.
Whatever it is I sincerely hope it stays this way and it keeps Sean full of hope and optimism.

Heavy/longterm prescription steroid use has given me exactly this.

Steroids were lifesaving at the time so I class it as a necessary evil.

Sean, I can’t say how much admiration I have for you and how you’re dealing with this shitty, shitty situation you find yourself in. I can only wish you the best, Andy

Another thanks!
The consultant did warn of Moon face but not the Hump
I will tread the path likely - it seems meditations are a great balancing act .

Morning Sean,

Short courses of corticosteroids will help your appetite, help you feel a little more energised and help you cope with inflammatory insults to your body like chemo / radiotherapy etc, but avoiding long term use of steroids makes sense because they have pretty potent side effects including:

Yeah mate, make's sense that Steroids are off the menu :(

Sleeping tablets being discussed up at the Hospice. Nurse Charlotte has booked next Thursday to
come visit here, so no doubt will find out then, if not before.

Hospital bed had been delivered and installed. Finger's crossed for some good sleep
sessions :)

Have used the Grand before back in 1986 for a New Order gig
I think I saw them the same year or it might have been the year before in London . Its all a bit of a blurr now . Will have to dig out the ticket . I do remember right at the beginning Bernard Sumner shouted out something like come on you bunch of southern f***ers which went down well .

Finally remembered to sort out the New Order ticket . It was indeed the year before ( 1984 ) at Hammersmith Palais . I also found a recording of the gig on You Tube and he doesn`t shout out anything at the beginning it must have been during the gig somewhere else . I will have to listen to the whole thing . I have just listened to it all the way through and he actually says " We love you cockney b**tards " just before playing Subculture so all this time I thought he was slagging us off and he wasn`t . Also found an Echo and the Bunnymen ticket from 1985 amongst many others ( unfortunately not the Crocodiles Tour Sean ) but they did play 4 tracks off the album . Those were the days :)

There is a site called https://www.setlist.fm/ where you can find the setlist for the date you saw a band . Great for those of us with fading memories .

Maybe the Forum Dr. will be along shortly to explain ? :?
[/quote]And as if by magic, it happens.

If I have trouble sleeping a good measure of quality Port before bedtime usually helps. I don't suppose that is on the proscribed menu though?

I've tried the 'sleepng pill' with the all of the consultants, GP's, nurses and even the catering staff who can't speak English and NOTHING! even a request to try one to see if it works without any ill adverse effect.
Our local chemist, who I think I am are keeping his NHS business going! has told me not to waste my money on over the counter remedies. Nearest I ever got was during a hospital stay but the nightshift consultant declined to help.
Sean, if you find a way, spread the word, unless you unleashed your charm offensive on the nurses!

That`s a great story Sean and exactly the spur of the moment thing that was done then  Movement the first album is my favourite as it`s more like Joy Division :)

Tell your doctors if you don't get help with your sleep, it could be back on the menu :D

Pregabalin Neuraxplharm

How are you getting on with this medication ? Is it helping with your sleep ?

All the best Tony.

Hi Sean,
Will be interested to see your reply, I tried this a while back and after 3 days had to stop using it - too many negative reactions.
Now I have nothing but Oxycodone and although a long way from perfect it's the best I've had. I take about 5 to 6 doses of 5 ml every 24 hours plus Paracetamol.
Hope you have better luck, all very best, Mike

Hello this is Mrs N4LLY (Melanie)
Sean is very tied and finding it difficult to concentrate. He is next to me telling me what to type!

The Pregabalin Neuraxpharm is working well with the Oxycodone, the perfect cocktail to relieve some of the pain. Sean has had a catostrophic bleed again, like his first incident. Huge blood lose which resulted in him being completly knock out!!!!

We also managed to burst his stomach balloon, by putting meds in the wrong tube, Doh!. Sean was told to go to A and E which naturally he fused, he does not have the energy to do this. Eventually our lovely nurse did a home visit to replace it. Happy days!

I will keep you all updated, if Sean does not have the energy.

Thank you all for being so caring and kind, it is very much appreciacted. xx

:)

Thanks Melanie, I bet it is not easy to write to an unknown group of car nutters but we do care about Sean having known him so long. We also know how much he appreciates all you have and are doing. All the best - Paul

Many thanks for the update Melanie, it's much appreciated.

Best wishes to you both.

Iain.
