Winter workhorse + Health update

Great video. I love the shaky cam quality. Somehow, it makes it more personal and better captures the moment. It wouldn't be the same recorded in 4K on an iPhone.

Brilliant . Got to love a bit of Golden Earing and the long version too  and to see you all rocking out . Any videos of you with Echo and the Bunnymen :D

You mean the only Dutch band that made an impact?

What about Focus (for those prog rock lovers out there).

Not to mention the legendary Vengaboys, Teach-In, Ten Sharp and Pussycat :exitright:

What about 2 Unlimited, weren't they Dutch?

Met Ray Slijngaard and his girlfriend staying at the same hotel in Thailand a couple of years back, great guy had lots of fun.

A bit if a hybrid, formed by Belgian producers in Antwerp, but Ray and Anita were both Dutch as you say.

Mini trip and 2 nights out.

Having been stuck indoors for basically 7 month's needed to get out and wanted to treat the "Ex".
Trip planned as above.

The HS1 train spot on and bang on time pulling into St Pancras
The walk from the train to the booked hotel was not as close as i had hoped for
The walk and that there London being very hot, was knackered on arrival at reception.
As soon as i saw the bed i was in it and asleep.
I liked hotel alot, posh and grand looking but in no way stuffy. Shame could not make use of facilities.

Next morning a super train ride to Brighton.
I like first class as you get a better class of fellow passenger

Have used the Grand before back in 1986 for a New Order gig at the conferance centre and in 2017
just for the hell of it. Has recently been refurbished and is now looking very much "The Grand".
The Junior suite booked was top draw. Used the balcolny but was very hot.

Melanie went and enjoyed a long walk along the prom as i had climbed into bed at 3pm again and instantly asleep.
Ordered room service, the ice cream was mine. Watched Gogglebox then sleep.

Woke up at mid-night, in what i thought was a big puddle of dribble
AS eyes adjusted realised it was blood. Was having another tongue bleed out including clot's. :o :o  :?
There was no way i was calling an Ambulance and getting stuck in a Brighton A & E and hospital for the weekend
or however long.

IMG-20240511-WA0003.jpg

So about 0300 Hrs Melanie phone home and Connor and Hannah aid they would jump out of bed and
into the X3 and come rescue us. From Hythe to brighton and arrived at 0600 Hrs, very good going.
Stopped bleeding at around 0800 Hrs.

Have spent the weekend trying to recover but still crap, very weak and constant pain :x
Will be calling the Hospice shortly requesting someone comes out and gives me a check up, blood test's etc.

So what seemed like a good idea, turned into a nightmare. Will not be risking that again :(

Sorry to hear you had a rough time and had to be rescued. You’re probably anaemic - can the hospice arrange a transfusion if needed? It might make you feel more yourself again.

I think I saw them the same year or it might have been the year before in London . Its all a bit of a blurr now . Will have to dig out the ticket . I do remember right at the beginning Bernard Sumner shouted out something like come on you bunch of southern f***ers which went down well .

That`s a real shame Sean especially as it started off so well with the attractive first class passenger . Just not your luck at the moment . Hope they get you settled . All the best . Tony.

Z4:

Hannah & Connor took yesterday for a blast out.
Hannah added to her insurance, £20.-- for the day, not bad i guess as is still under 25 years old.

The classic trademark fixed grin of a Z4 driver :D

Had a blast out from Folkestone to Sandwich and back. They promised it got an "Italian service" They loved it !!!

Thinking now, should we send off V5 now and change registered owner ?
If they dont get on with it or not pratical enough, then could alway's use as a PX for something decent ?

If they don't get on with it or not practical enough. How could anyone not get on with it and practicality doesn't come into the equation.

Its a 35is in Valencia Orange. What's not to like?

Stayed at The Grand on a business trip about a decade ago and the thing that sticks in my mind was the shot of whiskey option in the breakfast porridge. An option which was taken up of course :D

I took one of my granddaughters out In the car (booster seat and all) the squeals of delight were something that will stay with me !
She, at only six years old, has already put my car on her list!

Sean (N4LLY)...I have been reading this thread but not really replying as I don't know what to say (first for everything).

All I can say is I wish you the very best and I am thinking of you (quite a lot as it turns out). :|

I don’t know what to say either, other than best wishes, which is pretty feeble. You are in my thoughts also.

I had a fairly serious skirmish with the big C some 12 years ago but I’m still here now.

Terrible what happened again, but glad you have your family around who are helping you.

When my first wife was embroiled in her battle with it she struggled to talk openly as she felt she was burdening people.
I hope that by being able to write to a community who are mostly no more than avatars to you that you are finding it a way to share your thoughts and if it helps even a tiny bit then we should all be thankful.

[ref]Pondrew[/ref], [ref]dr_john[/ref], I can imagine it would appear difficult what to say some times, worrying you
might offend or something. Trust me, i fannot be upset. So even a "Get well soon" message is good :D

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], You may have noticed i am not shy
I just hope that i am shareing my personal experience without to much grim detail and gross graphics.
For example, That first bleedout picture and a photo of me without b shirt on !!! :o

For those wondering, Mrs N4LLY has been aware of this thread and yes has login details
