Generally winters are narrower,if there is snow, you don't want to sit on top of it

My thoughts too & where there is standing water or slush there is far less chance of aquaplaning

Good combo. Bit skinny tho?

Why ? :?
215's on the rear. I'm worrying with winter 225's on my own rears.
Maybe a good idea to lay off the sport button and taking wintery bends at enthusiastic speeds.....

The 32s came in so many variants for 17s that those above may have been 7.5j ? Was a good few years ago & much wine has gone by since :P

I was thinking the same, what's the spec? 7.5J, 8J, 8.5J? And the offset? ET41 or ET47?

Theyre a nice wheel and i used to have Breyton Magic multispokes on my e36 coupe. But i meant more for any wheel with a 215 section on the back of a z4 that it's probably a bit optimistic to expect to retain the same degree of traction as the standard 255 spec, especially in winter! Ooer! Could be interesting if ur tail-happy i suppose... :o

If you're worried about it maybe you could swap them round? Front to back? Just a suggestion, if width is such an issue in winter? Just a suggestion don't shoot me for it lol

Hehe, well that means with the op's wheels i'd have 205's on the back. No way hoe zay!
I'm running a square setup of 225x50x16 winters at the mo and it'll do. They look a bit titchy but at least i'll have grip in the snow and i can rotate every season.

I'm quite interested OP as they would fit my Z4C or my 325ti - are those tyres run-flats?

Maybe you could PM me a reply - thanks!

No-no, I was assuming 215 and 225 set up. I think you said this before? Or someone did?
I'm running a square set up same as yours. Just for this winter, then I'll upgrade to my 330 brakes and think just run my 17" year-round. Still undecided! Also undecided whether to run a square set up of 225/45/17 (so I can rotate like you said) or staggered 225/45/17 and 245/45/17 respectively. Another story!

Sounds like a plan!

My zed came shod in 18" 108's which I actually like the look of, especially in a staggered config of 255x30x18 at the back and 225x35x18 at the front. Theyre a bit tatty now so I might get a refurb done before whacking on some new Vreds next March. Although having plastidipped the winter wheels recently I'm tempted to dip the 108's as it would be a lot cheaper and longer-lasting than a refurb perhaps. Decisions decisions. Lol.

What colour to dip? hmmmm....

Mine came with 107's but they were tatty and although the rubber was reasonable in quality (brand) they were 4 different brands and all had different levels of tread. Not really wise considering the RWD and power to weight ratio... Hence me running the 16's ATM. Thinking of refurb via the Bham company. But can wait for now. I would go with black wheels but then I've got a silver, yours is black so maybe too much black? Lol
