Winter wheels help please

I am looking at purchasing some winter wheels for my car and was wondering what tyre widths to go for. I am going for a set of 17's, but when I look at the web sites they are saying 7.5J front and rear, is this right as on the front I have 225's and rear 255's? What do people recommend?

Depends on the offset numbers but 4 x 7.5 or 8 will be fine for winter wheels & just for your Zeducation all 16 or 17inch Z4 alloys are non staggered .
The staggered widths are 18s or 19s ( although it is possible to get staggered 17s but these were never standard on Z4s)
 
Just to add 225's x 17" all round are the BMW recommended winter tyre size for the e89

Not quite true the 35i came with 17" staggered as standard :P
 
Looking at winter wheel set now. Is this really cheap or really expensive!!!???!!!
