Completed my winter shoe set up on my Z4 35i feels good having removed the RFT I don't seam to feel all the tiny imperfections anymore in the road. :) Will report more as to handling and feel of the road once I've put some milage on this tire set. I know this already, feels nice and quiet in the cabin, I can hear myself think :)

Thanks Mike,

I managed to assemble the entire set for just below $1,500.00 (923.00 in your cool cash). The winter wheels look as good as the original M3 OEM wheels (I picked up 4 for the price of one OEM, I call that a good wheel).

I like to change the shoes for winter since I cannot bear to ignore my toy for 3 to 4 months. Also I like to give my summer wheels a good cleaning and inspection for cracks (I am sure you read some of my posts on my 2 rear 19" BMW Style 296 wheels having cracked after 18,000 KM this past summer in the USA ... long story).

Rolf-Dieter, very nice setup...
IMO the X Ice are perhaps the best winter tires period. I had them on my 2003 Z4 and would have them on my ///M if they were available in the correct size. I just put my winter wheels/tires on yesterday.

Hi Bill,

I had Michelin winter tires for a long time (my M3, my Jag and before that my MB LM 350) I like the Michelin and the X Ice did get some great reviews. I run all 4 corners the same 225/40/R18 my summer wheels are 19" x 8" front and 19" x 9" Back. I just feel better with winter shoes, one never knows anymore when it snows :) I don't thrust the Weather Man/Lady

First impressions after taking my car on a 30 KM spin with the new non-run-flat-winter tires over a variety of different road surfaces is excellent. I can best describe it as "A difference between night and day"

I know what I will do come spring with my RFT on my summer wheels :)
