Winter Waxing Tip

Just give the Zed a last coat of wax for the winter, making 3 coats of FinishKare 1000p in total so should last till next spring. When applying a "hard" wax, 1000p/collinite 476 etc which are ideal for winter they can be a right PITA to apply thinly and evenly when its cold, so using a tip I heard a while ago - get 2 foam applicator pads and a bowl of warm water, place the applicators onto the water, they will float so dont try to submerge, to soak up the water and warm up, when ready to apply wax remove one from the water, squeeze firmly to remove excess water, then straight into wax pot for a swipe of your chosen wax and apply to panel as normal, switch applicator after each panel so they're always warm.

I was dubious at first but it makes life sooo much easier and you get a nice thin and even coat everytime

Nice one. :) Good tip.

I always make sure mine are damp, but hadn't thought to put them in warm water.

Once finished with applicator sponges a good tip is to keep them in plastic zip lock bags, keeps them clean and also damp. :D :D

I always just spray mine with qd first

And always keep them in a zip lock bag

I've been using the Greased Lightening Showroom Shine product for the last year it's got carnauba wax and a cleaner . I find it excellent and the wax content is remarkable. :D
