Winter Tips

As I drive my Zed all year round, I was wondering what good tips all you knowledgeable people had for looking after the Zed in the snow/ice/salt?

I suppose the worst thing for the car is the salt on the road spraying up on to the car, is there any protection one can use under the car to minimise the potential damage (other than pressure washing the crap off)?

I have a great little half cover which is perfect for keeping the ice and snow off, have my winter tyres on, have used the "Gummi Bear Juice" stuff to stop the door seals freezing, but any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.....

I put a few layers of wax on the wheels helps with cleaning and keeping the salt off

I use a garden sprinkler and slide that under the car every time I wash it to get all the salt off

Agree - a regular wash down and the underside. Tempted to use a pressure washer but this can force salty water into various parts and ultimately cause corrosion problems.
