This summer i bought my first soft top (Z4) and was just wondering if there should be anything i should be doing to leep the top in good working order??
Make sure i take the top down every now again to make sure it works any kind of shampoo etc???

Use only soft top cleaner/conditioner for roof. Don't use car shampoo. I will still try to operate the roof once a week in winter.

Get it dry whenever you can by overnighting in a garage. Once the outer is dry, drop the roof. This allows the trapped parts to also dry and prevents the horrible green growth around the lower edges and seals.

Never operate it when the canvas is iced or very cold.

As noted above cycle it regularly if possibe and treat it.

Use proper Ragtopp or BMW not something else you find in Halfords or a camping shop!!

I dry mine then run a hardtop Nov/Dec to March, but that's another story

Dont kno about you guys but i fully intend to operate the roof throughtout the year...
If its cold..turn on heaters..if still cold..heat the seats...still cold wear a coat..easy
Yeahh i ll look like a knob but i ll be enjoying it :D :driving:

+1 I've ridden my ZX in the snow & hail, so having the top down in the winter just seems.... natural.

Hell yeah! Temperature is not an option. Purely down to the level of rain :-)
