Car cleaned with OneDrywash so there is no residual water around. Polished and paint sealed. Tyre pressures increased and fuel stabiliser added to tank. Trickle charger connected. Finally new cover fitted. Think i’ll Join her for a sleep through the worst of the weather. :D AEA6684C-1642-45A4-93C3-9345F6235A04.jpeg

Mine has a similar sleeping arrangement but I'm using the Winter to get the gaskets replaced, steering wheel re-furbed and a few other bits and pieces done ready for the summer :driving:

Now kicking about in a great big hairy-chested X3

What is your winter like in the UK? I imagine rainy and cold but little snow? Do they salt the roads?
I recently moved to southern usa. Cheap gas, no snow, flat boring roads.

I thought that this morning when I was scraping the ice off but ran it down to Nottingham and had a lovely drive back in the sunshine - guess that’s the reality of UK weather system.

Never say never :driving:

You can never be really sure what you are going to get. The further north you live the more likely you are to have lower temperatures and a higher risk of snow. However, we can have several Winters with very little snow, just cold and wet. Then out of the blue there will be quite heavy snowfalls. One of the main problems here in the UK is that because we don’t consistently have a lot of snow when it does come it usually catches out local authorities and the various transport services and links. Sometimes a few centimetres of snow can bring the country to a grinding halt. A lot of salt is used on the roads and that is the main reason I take my Z off the road for the Winter.

'Salting' in my part of Leicester consists of a large salt-spreading lorry, warning lights flashing, driving round the side roads at high speed at midnight, spreading ... nothing.

It's not as if the guy's not salting because he's just between major roads, because he goes up & down the same quite large side roads that need salting ... but never drops a grain of salt. I reckon he's paid per mile and is on a fiddle.

Whatever, when I see it again, I'll phone the Council and push till I get an explanation.

Each to their own, personally I couldn’t be without a drop top car all winter, too long a time and too many nice days to get out and freeze yourself silly.... A crisp winters sunny day with the top down is almost as good as summer. :driving:

I agree, a crisp cold clear night is the best time to drive roofless............

That is a fair point. This is the first time I have followed this route. Previously, I used my last Z when the roads were dry and the sun shining. If I have withdrawal symptoms it will be easy enough to take the cover off and reduce the tyre pressures. I haven’t sorned it so there won’t be too much of a problem.

You can bet money is involved somehow.

Looking cosy. Are the mats on the wall there to protect your door? Not sure I would hang those tools on the wall above my beloved either :o

WHAT, no carpet on the floor, mind's got all the above plus carpeted floor and a radiator in there to snuggle up to :D but I've never found the need to use a fuel stabiliser.

I have obviously failed miserably in not providing the carpet and heating. Please don’t report me to Social Services!

That looks nice and cosy OP.

Sadly my Z4 has to live outdoors, so if the weather is good I keep using it. :driving: (It doesn't know what carpet is)!

If you remember Mr T. I also have a folding garage which lives under the double carport. I do have a caravan awning ground sheet in that. I used to use it for my E85 and the 330d then went in the main garage. Unfortunately the E89 is bigger and won’t fit the folding garage. Thus it has commandeered the main garage and the 330d now lives in the other side of the carport. When I get round to it I must sell the folding garage at some point.

Yes, I remember. So what is good news for your E89 turned out to be bad news for the 330d!

You might be able to sell the folding garage on here when the time comes.
