Looking good with the hardtop OP!

Do you plan to fit winter tyres?

If this weather trend continues my set will be going on my E46 (they won't fit my Z4, so that only goes out on good days)!

Yes most likely next weekend. I have brand new winter tires on a set of 103s. Not in a hurry to swap though, the 107s look much nicer :D

Looks great sang!
Get a good deal?

Paid €1050 for it and picked it up this afternoon one hour from my house! It's in great condition. Just a few things that bother me a bit but not too much

Have this impact on the front/center of the hardtop. Do you guys think I can get it fixed?

Mr T, I had winter tyres on my 325ti and they were great. I live at the top of a hill and out of all of my BMs, Bullet was/has been the only one to get me home 'relatively' confidently with the feeling of safety. I do miss that car.

Bit of filler, bit of primer, bit of paint, bit of flattening, bit of clearcoat. It'll be reet.
+1 for winter tyres. Mine going on tomorrow i think as we're going to have some chilly days from next tuesday, brrr :o

I know that feeling! My 325ti normally runs staggered 17s (225/45 fronts and 245/40 rears) whereas my winters are 205/50 X16, and look a bit lost in the arches!

Happy to read that!

Also the rubber seal is peeling off... Anyone's had that issue before? It looks weird, I initially thought it was just dirty. I tried and scratch it with the sponge I usually use to remove bugs from my windshield. I now have a thin layer coming off the rubber seal. The layer peeling off is matte grey while the rubber underneath is shiny black. I can't help but worry I might be damaging the rubber but with that peeling thing it looks terrible.

It looks like the rubber strips have been coated in WD40 or some similar hydrocarbon based light oil, hydrocarbons will eventually degrade rubber over a period of time, try cleaning with soapy water, drying out and putting on a silicone based product

Ooh, that looks naaasty.
+1 on jonny's theory. Looks like someones tried to cure a sticky window problem with an oil-based product. Bad for rubber.
If that was mine i'd be thoroughly cleaning with soapy water, drying then using a cut-up mountain bike wheel innertube and some rubber compound to patch it up. Did this on another car door seal using an innertube and it worked a treat.
You're down to the base layer there so youll be replacing like for like in any case.
Make sure all surfaces are clean, dry and keyed before applying the innertube if you go down this route.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions Chris, very helpful.

Getting back to the paint chip on the hardtop, do you know what the hardtop is made of? Would like to know if I must hurry fixing it before rust forms or if it's some form of plastic and have time to study paint repairs/buying repairing products/find the time to do it properly?

Nice little adition, adds a touch of security from the winter's charms. Winter tyres sounds like a sensible option too.

Not too sure tbh.
It's heavy enough to be a steel panel and also sounds like it when tapped but the white bit makes it look like its a polymer doesnt it. Filler should work on either. Maybe adding a zinc coat if metal. The important part is flattening properly when painting and a decent clear coat for finishing.
I'd tackle this myself. I also have a leading edge chip and will be addressing myself.
