Winter fuel allowance.

I've just been paid my winter fuel allowance. :thumbsup:

But, the Zed is off the road - so I don't need the money for fuel. :rofl:
 
It should be means tested though as I think it's silly giving it to every pensioner and those that are well off just don't need it.
 
Agreed - I think they are moving towards that though. It sickens me to think that some pensioners who earn more than I do still get a winter fuel allowance!

....and in Scotland we get free medicines, not just those on prescription and free bus travel. :rofl:

Do you think it's fair that after paying 39 years N.I.contributions and still paying income tax after 49 years that I only qualify for the low rate of state pension?
Whereas someone who has never worked a day in their life gets the high rate. :?
