Picked up a set of 18" CSL reps tonight, 4 of them are like new :D not a mark on them really happy with the. Bought on a spur of the moment. Forgot I still need winter tyres & 4 tpms sensors :headbang: will decide what to do with over the next few weeks.

Anyone got any 225/40/18 Winter tyres laying around they don't need ?

Yes Andy. The boy was just down the road. Been used for 1 winter on his e89. Look like new.

Anyone with any Winter Tyres they don't need anymore ? 225/40/18. 4off Also need 4 x TPMS sensors.

Cheers
Gordon

My UK 2014 Z4 35i is spec'd with "2VB Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM)".

Does this mean it's the sensor driven system rather than the Flat Tyre Monitor (FTM) system that detects changes in rolling circumference?

Both are described in the handbook and it's nice to be sure. And if so then I'm going to need some sensors when I change from the stock wheels......... so where's the best source?

Tpms fitted to the newer cars. Mine is April 2014 build has the new sensors fitted inside the 4 wheels. Going to price them at the dealer.

At which point the CSL reps will be in the FS section :D

Lol Andy you may have a point :D
Cost is mounting up. May sit on them & pick tyres up at my leisure. It's the sensors that put me off :headbang: I wonder what the implications would be if it didn't fit them ?

I would assume nothing would break but you would have fault lights on dash the whole time :?
If the horror stories on the valve costs are correct it does point the way to having the standard alloys reshod in winter rubber then switched back come spring ?

Don't want to go down the road. Can get the sensors for £150 might just need to suck it up :(
What do you think the wheels would be worth ? 8" all round, perfect condition. Just in case I decide to sell lol

Looks like there's a whole world of TPMS I'm just finding out about. This looks a useful site for knowledge - https://www.tpmswarehouse.co.uk/ , though a bit pricey compared with £150.

Anyone know them? Use / Avoid....? Is the £150 a main dealer price?

They are reps..of unknown origin and manufacture techniques I assume? Dont mean to cause offense. For some the risk is acceptable and for a majority of them you are OK but your car isnt a 18i (purely imho of course) I wouldnt put 350+ bhp through them or anything on your car not TUV approved.

You can buy reps for less than 500 a set new on ebay and online.

Stuart, I know the origin of the wheels. Italian made still in boxes & the boy who had them only used them on his e89 for 6 months. Don't have a problem using them on my car. Probably better quality then oe wheels lol

I've heard that the rims crack on the oe wheels :D

They'll probably have an Italian approval house stamp/mark on the wheels.
If not a CE mark !

All jokes aside, on this forum we hear of the failures of the BMW kit but I can't remember reading about any replica wheels failing ?
