wingmirror sticky backing

where can I purchase a decent replacement sticky pad to re-attach wingmirror glass. I've tried heavy duty double sided tape but when it heats up it starts to slide off :(

Hi, I used silicon sealant on mine when the original backing failed. I didn't use much, and tried to spread it evenly to make sure the heat still transferred well. 2 winters later it is still holding firm.

I know there're others on here that have used sticky foam too. I'm sure someone has details & experience with cleaner foam.

I bought some double sided sticky foam pads from halfords a few years ago. Had no bother with them. Not sure if they still do them. They used to sell the replacement mirrors

Sorry, just saw this. I used the same stuff. It was clear, not black, but the colour shouldn't matter. 2 years in and still holding.
