Wing mirror stopped working.

Hi all

I discovered today that my near side electric wing mirror stopped working.
The drivers side I can move the glass no problem from the control. Switching it to passenger side and it glass won't move.

Any ideas what this may be? Any connections I should check?

Many thanks
Rich

Sorry to hear your problem, this sort of thing can be very frustrating. Do you have folding mirrors?

sounds quite a difficult issue to diagnose, could be all manor of things, the switch, the mirror motor, or any of the wiring in between.

The easiest thing to check is whether the switch is working using a voltage meter, if that seems ok, then I would try to gain access to the mirror motor wiring (sorry I don't know how) , then check this with the switch operating to see if there is power.

As the other mirror is working ok, it would point possibly to either a loose/broken wire, or a mirror motor failure.

With another set of hands just try giving it a VERY gentle hand and see if it comes back to life. One controlling motor the other the mirror glass.

My folding mirrors stopped working on one side on my m3 but this cured it.

Tapatalking on my iPhone.......

I can't hear a motor whining when i press it.

I will try a little later on with someone else trying to loosen, move the mirror glass.

Where can i find any connection ends for the glass motor to i am able to check it?
