Wing Mirror Smashed... :(

A teenager playing football has managed to smash my passenger wing mirror to pieces, not just the glass but the whole thing has smashed right through, only being held on by the interior cables. Took the kids name and address but not sure what i can do with it other than send an invoice when everything gets costed up. Whats the rough price of a whole new wing mirror? I have a feeling I'm not going to enjoy the sound of it... :-(
 
I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks back. Got one from German ebay for £220 all in. Just swapped over the coloured casing and that was it sorted...
 
No they aren't either, just plain bog standard mirrors that you can twist manually. Just spoke to Jamie at Sopers who has helped out and its around the 260 quid mark with discount. Many thanks to him as unless I find someone selling secondhand or one from a scrap yard then I'll be ringing him back in a couple of days. Anyone have a spare passenger side mirror with glass?
 
you can get a replacement glass for around a tenner from ebay - wont be OEM but then the OEM one is £100+ and you can't tell the difference :D
 
The glass is the least of his problems with the entire mirror missing ;)
 
yeah I realise that, just didn't want him blithely paying BMW their overpriced prices for a bit of glass ;)
 
Nope, not confident at all. Best i can hope for is send a copy of the invoice through to his address and hope his parents stump up something. Otherwise its just gonna be near on 300 quid out of my Christmas spending money.
