Wing mirror removal

Hi Guys

Is there a handy guide to remove and dismantle the wing mirrors on the Z4 coupes? I need to get my passenger one off to work out why the colour housing is loose and wobbly.

Prise the tweeter off and disconnect
Take the door card off
Undo the 3xt30 Torx that hold the mirror on

Once off the car take the glass out by rotating the ring that holds the mirror onto the moving table it sits on
Once that’s off you will see the 7-8 small Torx (t15 from memory but may be smaller) that hold the case to the body

It is actually doable without removing from the car. Tilt the glass to point fully up and you’ll see the slot in the mounting ring underneath. Thin screwdriver to rotate it about 1cm.
Be careful to catch the glass and then remove the electrical contacts from it.
From memory I think you then need to unscrew the motor assembly to access all the mounting screws.
Don’t forget the single screw in the lower black infill piece, which is accessed from below.

Thanks Chaps, wish me luck. I have a history of breaking mirror glasses on my cars when trying to remove.

My G02 X4 was a very painful error.
