Wing Mirror Glass - Which Glue?

We all know that the glass in the wing mirrors can fall out and needs to be restuck. I've used some Loctite stuff before, but after a few months, I'm having to redo it again.

Interested to hear if anyone has recommendations for a glue that lasts?

Cheers.

I used Araldite (the one where you have a tube of resin and one of hardener) on mine about two years ago, and they're still in there solid.
So I would recommend Araldite.

I used general-purpose double sided tape on my previous zed and that worked much better than glue in my experience

Thanks for the tips. I never thought to use tape - I've used it to secure other bits and it has worked brilliantly.

Or number plate sticky pads

My driver's mirror was stuck with a sticky pad when I got it, but it came loose after a while. Then I noticed that it is not designed to be stuck in, but that there is a twist latch. I needed to insert a screwdriver just behind the glass and twist the plastic latch round which then grabs onto the mirror. (That is for OEM glass. I suppose if you've got aftermarket glass you then may need to stick it)

I've stuck several mirror glasses including the Z4 with JB Weld Black Silicone RTV. It doesn't dry out and weaken like some glues, it has better vibration/shock absorption properties and transmits heat from the elements just fine  Screenshot_20210902-192320_eBay.jpg
