Windshield wipers

I don't need to use them very often, however it has rained 3 times this year and I have come to the conclusion that the windshield wipers are made for the right hand drive cars and not the left hand drive cars. The reason I say this is, when the wipers are on, the wipers push the water to the left and if for some reason you have the drivers window open or cracked the water comes into the cabin of the car, not to mention the right wiper pushing water into the drivers view. With a right hand drive car the water is pushed away from the drives view.

Since they make both right and left hand drive cars, should they also change the wipers to make it better for the driver and make the wipers for left hand drive cars, in a way to push the water out of the drivers view?

I think you'll find they are the other way round on right hand drive cars...it's so that the driver has upper corner of the screen wiped for maximum visibility...and a wet head if the window is open

I guess it just seems a bit backwards to me. Why push all the water into the drivers view. BMW must be smarter than I.

Try driving if you had to look through the dirty arc left on the passenger side, especially when it's raining at night.

A week in England where you wouldn't have the window open anyway when its raining, would convince you it's the right way.

You're absolutely right! This was one of the two things i don't like about my car!

The problem is that the windshield's curvier than the average car. I think if we had flatter windshields there would be less of an issue.

The beef I have about the wipers is why BMW decided not to give us those cool looking ones they put on the rest of their cars. We get stuck with the old fashioned heavy metal blades.

bosch icons(aero blades) doesn't like the curvature of the windshield and misses a LITTLE BIT of my far right side of windshield.
