Windshield Top Rubber Trim replacement

This has been discussed a few times but a while ago. Has anyone replaced with the rubber trims from Lithuania on eBay? part number I believe is 51317017021
Any other suggestions? Mine has lifted in one corner and by trying to push it back in, I broke it and it is disintegrating. I've done a search but hasn't got anything more recent than 2018. 2004 e85. Thanks!!

Having seen a few pattern parts and the fit, or lack of it, I just ordered a genuine one from BMW. £71 but got a 10% discount for being part of this forum

It's a common issue with these trims, unfortunately. While aftermarket options can be tempting, for something that takes a lot of sun and weather exposure, a genuine part often pays off in the long run for fit and durability. Good luck with the replacement!

Just looking at my invoice from nov 24 for this genuine part from bmw Bournemouth (who never want to discount for me) and I paid just under £40.
Beware of eBay sellers who often mark up and always try bmw dealer first. Some stuff is reasonable.

How did you get the discount? At the dealership or is there a code for online? Cheers

Sopers of Lincoln have always done it if you ring and speak to them. I was told they are now part of One Group, as is the dealer in Norwich. So I phoned the Norwich parts department, gave them a bit of 'support our classic cars' waffle and got the 10%.

Try bmw direct or vertu eBay stores, sometimes they have eBay 10-20% discounts codes, or use Cotswolds and quote Z4 forum.

Is this part different for 2004 models? It seems on the IIIparts fitment chart that 2004 model is missing? Dont' want to order the wrong thing...

RealOEM shows it covering all Z4 models (including the E86).

If you give LLLparts your VIN when you order, they'll confirm for you, too. Or if you put your VIN into RealOEM, that'll also guide you, too, for piece of mind (it's under Vehicle Trim -> Glazing).
