My 2003 Z4 windshield cowl has the front edge cracked and broken. I know you can buy the replacement cover but I wanted to try something different which would not require replacing the whole thing. Searching the internet I came up with a product called RUBBER LEAF SEAL (TRML1) This a a rubber extrusion which has a slot to slide over and grip the edge of the windsheild cover, see the attached pictures.

I carefully broke off the bad edge of the cover and used a carpet knife to clean the edge smooth. I then pushed the rubber strip onto the cover edge to close the gap at the bottom of the windshield glass. it has only been on a few weeks so I can not say if it is long lasting. The molding is out of the direct air blast, seems to grip tite and gives a nice smooth finished appearance. If is loosens I will try some type of adhesive.

Purchased two meters, about 6 1/2 feet, from CBS Online (Car Builder Solutions) http://www.cbsonline.co.uk. Cost was $19.26 including shipping._a_

I had mine replaced yesterday only because the windscreen was replaced, apparently it's there for aesthetics only, better now its replaced though as the old one was starting to discolour and perish...
