Disclaimer: I have checked and search for this topic/item within the forum and found really old topics about this, where the links are obsolete or not working anymore.
I'm currently in the UAE (Dubai) and managed to get a 2004 E85 Z4 3.0 from a friend that is leaving the country. Parked in his building for more than a year but really well kept and maintained, with the engine working smoothly and the soft-top convertible part fully working. He's been honest since the beginning and showed that this Windshield Frame Cover is missing (and, of course, the small Covering Centre item) due to the replacement of the soft-top motor.
Here's where I hope to find some help to find this thing: I can only seem to find this part on USA BMW-parts/dealers websites and for about 400$...The very cheapest found is in Lithuania, but of course without shipping option to the UAE (https://www.bmwautoparts.net/en/catalog/part/54317056282/0/windshield-frame-cover) and still at 282€.
Miraculously there is a website selling the item from Oman, however let's not even consider it as they are trying to sell this at around 560$ (https://www.desertcart.ae/products/59633266-bmw-genuine-windshield-frame-cover).
I've submitted a quote request for these items also from BreakerYard.com, but still waiting. Maybe someone has had bad experience with them that can share.
Now, without considering the 70/80$ for the small central cover part on top, I think it's ridiculous to spend that much for an ABS part (let's call it with its name: cheap plastic) and I'm sure it would come for much much cheaper from a junkyard/scrappy from a totaled car. At the moment no luck here in Dubai, anyway someone here may know of a website/place to look at or to contact for this matter.
