Windscreen Wipers

Does anyone have an answer to my erratic Windscreen Wiper problem, have seen other posts,
they seem to have a mind of their own, returning to a couple of inches higher than the bottom of the windscreen, stopping on the right-hand side of the screen, continuing to move when I try to swipe once only, any advice would be gratefully received...Thanks

Probably grease that has encroached onto the position encoder plate, causing the irregularity.
I'm currently addressing a water-ingress issue and have the cowl off to clear out the windscreen scuttle.
I'll be disassembling the wiper mech and cleaning the encoder plate which should address my own smaller issue with the irregular resting position of the wipers. If you keep an eye on my thread it may serve as some guidance.
There are basically 2 bolts either end of the mech keeping the mech in place, as well as a white plastic locator/tension bracket.
Member Colb has also contributed some sage advice within the thread too.
I'll be cracking on at the weekend and will post up developments...

Either grease on the motor contact plates or, as in my case, the relay on the back of the fuse box was starting fail and thus not switching back off as quick as it should.

My issue was the relay going bad; once you've got access to the fuse board behind the glove box it's simple enough to swap over the relay for the front fogs and the wipers - both are identical and your fog relay should be in mint condition unless you use them as often as your wipers! And the duff relay will still operate your fogs.

Alternatively replacement relays are cheap enough to buy if you wanted to replace.

I ended up having my wiper motor replaced a few months ago because mine were very erratic and then they stopped working altogether.

Problem solved.

I was lucky that I was still under my warranty!
