Windscreen Washer Jets Blocked??

Hi all,

Very new to this as only just joined this forum and new to my Zed 4.

I have washer jets for my windscreen and also the headlights. The headlights work fine as normal but the windscreen ones are some what blocked as hardly any water comes out of them and this has only recently happened. Its not the pump thats the problem, but the dealer infomrs me that there are several filters within the pipes to the windscreen jets which could be blocked.

Is there a way in which I could unblock the pipes to the windscreen jets or at least clean the filter that goes from the tank/pump. Could someone enlighten me as how to go about doing this as would rather avoid using the dealer whom would charge me to do this.

Many Thanks

Nick

If you have a look at these they'll at least show you how the components all fit together, not much use but I'd imagine this would be quite a tricky job to gain access to all the components.

Have you tried the obvious like unblocking the jets themselves with a pin/needle or similar, that's where I would start.

and stop using Halfords windscreen wash as that is the cause of 99% of blockages ...

If some water is getting through then it might be 'crud' just before the washer jet.Under the bonnet (Hood :D ) try disconnecting the tubes then get someone to operate the windscreen (shield) washer to confirm water is flowing out of the disconnected pipes. This way you are confirming the rest of the system is ok, therefore it will be you jets blocked.
