I've normally found the windscreen demister to work satisfactorily including melting ice and snow but this morning I couldn't seem to get it to blow any air out of the windscreen vents on the top of the dashboard.
Turning up the fan and selecting the windscreen vents, also selecting the demister button all appears to work OK - i.e. all the right noises but no air coming out of the relevant vents.
This is a right pain as the screen wouldn't clear until well warmed up after about 10 miles.
It's as though a hose/duct has come off under the dash board so that air is just blowing around the back but I suspect it is not quite as simple as that.
Possibly related?:
1. It has recently been in a body shop being sprayed
2. It has recently had a new windscreen fitted courtesy of Messrs Autoglass
3. The aircon hasn't worked for a couple of years (at least it doesn't go cold - I don't know if that affects the de-humidifier)
I had a search on here & wider but no obvious reference to similar problems. I also had a quick look on Real OEM to see if there were any obvious parts that may have failed but didn't get far.
Anyone have experience of similar or familiar with rummaging around behind/under the dashboard?
