Wet inside windscreen

2006 E86. Could recent temp flunctuations be the blame, in my case 12C one day, down to -4 by the next morn? Never had an issue with moisture inside the car previously.

By wet I mean good amount of condensation but not drenched.

Only other thing is I had a genuine BMW screen put in recently, poss not sealed perfectly???

Really bothers me as I pride myself on a quick defrost and go, now I need more effort.

Lots of things can cause this

Check the door seals make sure nothing is leaking in
Check carpets as mentioned
Make sure you aren't leaving anything damp in the boot overnight i.e. sweaty running gear, football boots etc.
Sometimes inaccessible stuff like sound dampening can get wet, try check all material parts inside the car for any moisture

You can always try buy some moisture absorbers, effectively big bags of silica gel like you get in trainers boxes, chuck them on the dash and they will soak up moisture ( I had to use them in my old VX220 as it was anything but water tight!) - appreciate thats a sticky plaster solution but might help in the short term

So its a bit wet behind the drivers seat, at the back of the rail, door side. Not soaked, but beyond just damp.

Door seal looks fine. Passenger side fine behind seat as are footwells and boot. Nothing obvious. Did have a 1/3rd full bottle of water back there, poss leaked? Wasn't wet or leaking when I inspected it...

Door seal isn't the problem....remove the door card and the membrane behind will likely be damaged or perished. It may be repairable depending on how bad it is and replace/refit with butyl tape.

Update: windscreen is bone dry this morn on the inside despite hard frost, I did run a/c and heat on my hours drive home and ipa wiped inside of screen when back (due to marks from wiping wetness away) so that's positive.

So perhaps swings of temp havent helped, more stable the last few days day-night.

Drivers door window a bit misty so worth getting card off to inspect as you say @darich.

Looking like a minor issue hopefully, thanks for your input thus far folks.

Might be anecdotal, but I think if you're driving home and the car is nice and warm, put the car on cold AC for the last few minutes. By doing so, it blows all the warm air out the ventilation system. If you don't, then that warm air sits in the system and rises as the car cools, then forms condensation on the coldest surface - the windows. Predominantly, the windscreen.
Nothing scientific behind this...just my own thoughts on it.
