Any body have an issue where you open the drivers door and the window drops a fraction but catches the seal, so close the door and open again and the window drops correctly. It seems that i always have to open and shut the door twice if i have been away from the car. Window reset doesnt seem to work unless i am doing it wrong??

When you say catches a seal. Do you mean it's adhered to the seal as if glued? Or that there is a mechanical obstruction preventing proper operation? The first could be cured with a rubber treatment such as gummipflege. If the other, where and how is this happening exactly?
The window reset seems pretty forgiving. I always forget the exact instructions, I just run the window up and down a couple times, holding the switch up or down some seconds after travel ends each time. Seems to do the job despite lack of a detailed effort. In any case, I don't think the auto-up/down the reset is for is really related to the small drop when opening the door.

Sorry my explanation wasnt that clear. Ok when i go to the car and lift the door handle the window drops fractionally but not quite enough to clear the outer part of the door seal. So when i then close the door, the window doesnt seat properly and raises fractionally onto the outer door seal.
If i then open the door again, the window drops correctly and clears the outer seal, so when i then close the door, the window is seated correctly and allowed to raise correctly into the seal.
Now i have done the window resetting as suggested but its the initial drop that seems to be the issue and predominantly after the car has stood for a while.
So the window gets the command to drop but it just seems that initially its not told to drop low enough
The windows glide freely when operated and have no other issues. :? :?

Ok done various resets of the windows and they seem to operate correctly, however the issue would seem to be that initially the rubber seal sticks (grips) the window therefore preventing it from dropping properly. So my solution is to wipe the seal with a very small amount of silicon based lube, just enough to take the tackiness off the rubber. Will report back on this :|
I'd be quite surprised if that doesn't solve this now that I understand the issue. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
