Windows weirdness...not Microsoft though ;-)

This is really odd...

I recently got an '05 3 litre Roadster which I'm over the moon with apart from some nonsense with the windows:

1. Both windows work as they should when you open and close the doors - tiny drop down and back up as required.
2. Courtesy mode is enabled and when I use it, both windows open about half way, and the roof drops as it should.
3. Locking the car in courtesy mode raises the roof but leaves the windows wherever they happen to be.
4. If the car's locked and I unlock it and open the door, the window drops to its full extent. Not tried this on the passenger side.

I'm sure there are some other goings-on but I'm bored now :P

I've tried various window reset options including Shipkiller's most comprehensive menu number 4 but to no avail.

Any ideas and suggestions would be most welcome

PS - how do I turn off the very annoying auto door locking malarkey after I set off?

You could try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, that will reset everything

Sounds like maybe window regulator related. Sorry, cant be more help

It's not an August 05 is it because with the courtesy opening mine did exactly the same.

I had he courtesy opening turned off in the end, still had to reset he windows every couple of months, though otherwise no repeat of undocumented features

I think no4 is normal, if you press the unlock button twice then the driver side window will go all the way down when you open the door.
I think this is done to make it easier to get in and out in tight spaces.

July '05 and it's the same colour! Wonder if it's a Maldives Blue thing?

How did you get the courtesy feature turned off BTW?

Thanks for the other responses

I went to a Grovsnor open day in Reading last year, got that sorted, auto door lock turned on & oen/close on the key enabled(though bought the module in the end as ths doesn't require u to hold the fob/button down)

Otherwise say goodbye to £75-£100 for a visit to a stealer to use ther machine, or, some of the peeps on the meets might be able to recode using their gizmos if ur very lucky

It's a coding option. Either pay a dealer or independent to do it, or buy the £20 lead off eBay and do it yourself, or find someone on the forum near you who can do it. (I'm happy to code any options for anybody who wants to come to Winchester).

Thanks Both!

Philip - I'm going to get me one of those leads; might come in useful for coding options. What should I search for on eBay?

Thanks mate!

Looks like you get the workshop manual on one of the DVDs as well.
