OK, so this morning lowered drivers window just get some crisp cold air, come to close, stuck down.
No panic, have had a few occasions when it got stuck, just thump the arm rest next to switches will cure. Not this time.
So stopped, tried all switches, no movement from any window.
So operated roof just enough to drop remaining windows, windows lowered.
You have guessed right, come to raise, all stuck down.
So drove to work, bit nippy but I survived.

So pulled the door card off.
The connector plug to the switch pack is loose. It will push further in by 1mm. The windows operate normally. Plug out 1mm all windows stop functioning.
Can't work out how the plug detaches from the switch socket to have a good look.
Except this is the cause of the hassle.

My last resort might be to glue the plug in the fully in position.

Nice fault finding! I'd be tempted to glue that with some all purpose glue that will be strong enough to hold it but can be pulled apart if ever needed.

Can you get a cable tie round it?

Might just need to clean the contact though, normally there is put of the plug you need to push down to release.

Couldn't work out how to detach the plug.
Funny how it has some clever design to stop it dropping off, yet somewhere the contacts aren't making.
I finally held it in place with silicon sealant, as that gave me the option to remove at a later date.
I now notice the internal illumination is a bit intermittent, so at some point will probably take apart have a better look at what's going on.

Update, disassembled switch, cleaned with contact cleaner and reassembled making sure plug seated home.
Works fine.

And still fine at 27/02/2016
