Windows staying dropped

Before anyone says search, I did and I can't find this specific issue.

At the moment I'm finding that every now and then the windows fail to rise from their slightly dropped position when the door is closed.
It's not a reset issue as I've tried that - in any event, turning the ignition on, pressing up (not auto) to close them and then they behave as normal.

So has anyone had this before? Got any possible theories that aren't reset the windows?
 
Hi Steve! I hope you're well! Are there any grinding noises what so ever? The regulator on mine went recently and at first, it kept being a little temperamental until finally it wouldn't go the last 1cm at all :-(
 
Not doing too bad mate, see you've moved a little closer to my part of the world, have to have a meet when the weather is less... cold.

Nope no noises, all normal except when I close the door sometimes the windows don't return to closed. If I use the switches to raise them all is good again, if the drivers door is open then it will go up, drop again and then up when the door closes. It's odd and just annoying to have to open up again and raise them manually.
 
That is annoying. Wish I could add some help! Yes doesn't sound mechanic then at least, I don't know if that's good or bad! Is it worth cleaning the seals etc?

Yes definitely, especially as I'm not far off your commuting line. I might be doing the occasional Friday of work down in Exmouth too so I'll give you a shout!
 
Certainly sounds like a reset problem, had same problem and second reset solved it, Cheers bud. Baz :thumbsup: :driving:
 
Lost count of the number of resets I've done... when it first started doing it I reset it every time. Surely if it needed resetting then raising the window up with the drivers door open wouldn't solve the issue as it would still think the upper limit was the lower position?
