Windows Freezing Shut

I just use a credit card to scrape a couple of inches of ice from the bottom of the window (enough for it to drop) then run the card around the frame and along (under) the bottom rubber seal.. seems to work every time for me..
Top-Tip

Although I hope it's an old card otherwise..... :o

Usually my gym membership card.. doesn't come out much otherwise... it's essentially a £40 a month ice scrapper!

I find you can gently get the card under the rubber from the left hand end (drivers side) then run it along with it pressed flat against the window, so I really don't think it will distort the rubber.. obviously if you have the time and means to defrost the window properly then it's best to, but if you're caught out a train station etc and the scraper's inside, it should get you out of trouble fairly quickly.

that seems a bit excessive - get a Nectar card, they're free

Frameless windows freeze shut, that's life. I had an E36 Coupe, same issue.

I am relatively new to Z4 and have found that freezing issue really annoying. My earlier ride was E92 M3 and it too had frameless windows but I did not have the freezing issue then. Used it through 4 cold winters up here on 60N without windows ever freezing. So it seems there are differences between different models frameless windows.
I got the tip from this forum to use the "gummi pflege" too. I have now used it but thanks to our unusually warm weather right now, havent had the chance to test if it work :-)

My Gummi Pflege came today, as I too have been suffering frozen shut windows. I've just been tipping a little cold water around the edge, it works okay, but does involve me having to unlock the house and go back in, tip it on, check it works, go back in the house to drop the mug back in and lock up... and none of that would work if I had just parked up in the middle of nowhere anyway!
