Window switches on driver's side

At times when I put my wipers on with the window open rain comes in the car and settles on the arm rest, I do try to wipe it off. Over the last couple of days the window switches on the door have stopped working, could this be the cause? If it is, how easy is it to either change the switch or at least get to it to see what is wrong?
 
Are all windows not going down now on both sides when using the drivers switches? If the near side windows drop when using the drivers switch pack it could be motor/regulator maybe
 
all the windows are interminttently stopping when using the driver's side. But the passenger windows go up and down when using the passenger controls.
 
I had same problem, need to get at the connector on the switch, door card off, unplug clean with some contact spray and refit, cured my problem. Don't think the spray did much, but i made sure all the pins and sockets were in the right place before reconnecting. Do you notice the illumination is also out. I think the bad contact on the switch might be the negative.
I may have even cable tied the wires so that non would back out.
