Window Slider Position?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and already I have a question.
I've searched and although I've found helpful pages, none of them answer the question I have!

I'm just fitting a new window regulator and I'm currently putting it back together, however, the serated bracket (Slider, no 10 in the bmw diagram) has a few positions, how do you set this so as not to break the window and to ensure it functions properly?

Any help is much appreciated.

Sorry cant help you.

If it is any compensation as it has just started raining i am just about to go and wrap mine in a tarp as mine went this weekend.

Gonna have to see if i can remove the old one and chock the window up as i need the car this week and it is going to be a couple of days before i can get a replacement.
