Window regulator?

Hi all! First post on the forum is a problem, please forgive me. About 2 weeks ago I tried to roll my electric window down in z4 and I heard some clicking and what not and it wouldn't complete the cycle. So I pulled the window back up, now I can just hear the motor spinning but no movement. Is this a diy job or do I need to take it to a dealer? How bad is this going to hit me?

Any replies appreciated

James

If its the regulator... you're probably looking around £270 from an indy all fitted / replaced.
This is about £130 for the part (same cost if you choose to DIY) plus about 1.75 labour time including removal and reseal of doorcard.

Did this few weeks back - bit of a pita diy job but as long as you take your time should be ok.

Cost £115inc vat for the regulator from Joe @ Sopers.

I use an independant for unscheduled maintenance and had to have this done last week. Think the part (genuine BMW) was approx £130+VAT and then 2 hours labour. Total work came to £528 but had two front drop link suspension bushes replaced too so not sure without looking at receipt what the breakdown of cost was.

...but can also confirm that if you can still hear the motor working then it should "just" be the regulator.
