Hi all,

I called a guy in relation to purchasing his car. All ok he said except for the passenger side window regulator.
He told me you can buy the part from eBay for around £50.
Should I be looking at a dealer to buy this or someone like euro car parts.
He told me he would knock off £100 from the purchase price!!! Is this enough!!!
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

A new window regulator is around £150 and then it has to be fitted.
You can get repair kits on ebay for around £50 but I've no idea how successful they are.

A local indi did mine for about £150 a couple of years ago, some people have successfully used the kits but my experience with adjusting frame-less windows has led to more scuffed knuckles and cursing than I care to mention so I left it to him :D

I bought 2 regulators for £130 each from Sopers. Fittings took about 90 mins per side including adjustments. It was quite a satisfying DIY job to be honest. I heard too many bad reports about the repair kits to try and do it on the cheap.

I got an oem regulator from euro car parts on sale at £120. Fitted myself took a couple of hours.

Would steer clear of repair kits. Was quoted min 2 hours labour from a local garage. So I'd negotiate £200-£300 off the price. Or get him to fix it before agreeing to buy
