Hi all, my passenger window wasn't performing well and eventually stopped. Bought a refurb kit off eBay and took it to my mechnanic today. After getting the regulator out it was clear the cable was knackered however a plastic part was also broken. He glued the part and tested it and all seemed good but then it started graunching again. Unfortunately the plastic part had failed so the cable had jumped off a cog.
After nearly 3hrs we gave up and ordered a new regulator (£161) from ECP. Wish I'd gone down that route to begin with.
On the plus side I took the opportunity to install Silent coat 2mm sound deadening in the doors and it makes the doors sound much more solid.
